Full-service wedding planning is typically engaged at least 10 to 12 months before the wedding — from the beginning of the planning journey. This includes assisting with venue selection, vendor recommendations and bookings, budget management, design elements like color palettes and decor, timeline creation, and handling contracts.
Essentially, the project manager, the full-service wedding planner guides the couple through every phase, from save-the-date creation to post-wedding tasks.
Partial management offers a tailored level of support that bridges the gap between a DIY wedding and full-service planning, providing peace of mind and professional expertise.
Services typically begin 3 months before the wedding and include creating a detailed wedding day timeline and floor plan, confirming all vendor details and arrival times, managing final communications with vendors and the venue, and overseeing the setup and breakdown of the ceremony and reception. The planner is the central point of contact for all vendors, ensuring that all elements of the day are executed according to plan. This includes managing vendor setup, cueing the wedding party and guests, and handling transitions between events.
On the wedding day, the planner and their team are present to manage the entire event, often for 8 to 12 hours, depending on the package.
Typically, “day of” wedding management service begins 6 to 8 weeks before the wedding day and focuses exclusively on the execution and logistics of the wedding day itself. The couple has already made most of the decisions.
The “day of” coordinator ensures that the day runs smoothly according to the couple’s established plan, manages vendor arrivals, oversees setup and breakdown, handles the rehearsal, and acts as the on-site point of contact for any issues that arise.
